Tools needed
- Gas pressure washer
- Stiff deck brush
- Paint roller and tray kit
- Degreaser
Materials needed
- Concrete degreaser
- Silane-siloxane penetrating sealer
- Blue tape for edges
Step-by-step
- 1
Clear the driveway and pretreat oil stains with degreaser, scrubbing them in.
- 2
Pressure-wash the whole slab in overlapping passes to lift grime and tire marks.
- 3
Let the concrete dry fully — usually a day of dry weather.
- 4
Tape off adjacent surfaces you don't want sealed.
- 5
Roll on a thin, even coat of penetrating sealer, avoiding puddles.
- 6
Apply a second coat per the label and keep traffic off until fully cured.
Common mistakes
- • Sealing damp concrete so it hazes or won't bond
- • Applying sealer too thick and leaving a slippery film
- • Driving on it before it cures
Maintenance & next steps
Reseal every 2–3 years and rinse spills promptly to keep the surface protected.
For structural cracks, heaving slabs, or deep oil saturation that won't lift.
